Charley's Dream Hunt

Charley’s Dream Hunt shares the inspiring story of a determined young hunter whose unforgettable elk hunt shows the strength, courage, and joy that the outdoors can bring.

Charley's Story

Meet Charley, a sweet, strong 10 year old girl  with TAR syndrome. TAR syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that is characterized by the absence of the radius bone in the forearm and a dramatically reduced platelet count. It is associated with cardiac defects, dysmorphic features, and petechiae.

Despite being born with shorter arms and facing low platelets, she never lets anything hold her back. She’s had 5 major leg surgeries and will face big challenges ahead, but her heart is even bigger. Charley plans to be a Kindergarten teacher when she grows up, and loves to me a mommy figure to her 6 siblings.

Charley adores animals, baby dolls, and brings warmth everywhere she goes. Charley  just got her very first elk tag, a dream come true in her love filled world. A huge THANK YOU to Sportsman’s for Heroes for making this unforgettable adventure possible. From Charley’s heart to yours, thank you. Even the smallest ones can have the biggest hearts.
